IE Discontinues Fabrication of Fiberglass Panels

For years, Interpretive Exhibits was one of only a small handful of companies in the United States that fabricated fiberglass embedded panels in-house. The panels have been sturdy and reliable in many ways. But due to changes in materials, inks and the recent arrival of Rhino™ Panels we've decided to discontinue the fabrication of fiberglass embedded panels. We have worked with the folks at Aardvark Imaging - the producers of Rhino™ Panels - and have seen them produce a product that is superior and still competitively priced. These panels are beautiful, tough and durable. Read more about Rhino™ panels here and see Rhino's President discuss the panels.

IE Teams with Nimlok to Offer a Wider Line of Exhibits

Interpretive Exhibits recently joined forces with Nimlok of Chicago to add another line of high-quality exhibits to our offerings. While some of the product line crosses with the offerings of our current partner Classic Exhibits in Portland, we feel there is enough difference that it makes sense to move forward with Nimlok. Check out our Nimlok-branded Interpretive Exhibits site here.

Washington State Parks and Oregon Forest Industry Council Call Upon IE for Digital Audio Production

It may have been a coincidence of timing, but IE cranked up the microphones to produce radio interpretive radio spots for two low-power information stations in June. The first will be posted on a station through Grand Coulee Dam area in eastern Washington, describing the ice age floods and the surrounding area.

Spot two:

The second project, for the Oregon Forest Resource Institute, will be available to travelers over Santiam Pass in Central Oregon. The spots will offer information on the B&B Complex fire, which burned over 90,000 acres in the summer of 2003.

A. C. Gilbert's Discovery Village Opens New 'Village Grocery' and 'DinoStories' Exhibits

As part of our long-term relationship with the premier children's museum in Oregon, Interpretive Exhibits recently finished fabricating and installing a new 'grocery store' exhibit. Find the story and photos of the opening and fabrication in Salem here. A few weeks after the grocery store exhibit opened, Discovery Village opened their new DinoStories exhibit. Interpretive Exhibits fabricated a 'dino-slide' especially for the room. You can see photos here.

IE's Tradeshow Rental Program Takes Shape

Let's face it: as much as we love to design and fabricate custom exhibits for people, there are times when it makes more sense for a company to rent. We've been working with Classic Exhibits for a couple of years now and they've just upgraded their rental program. As a dealer, we are able to offer you excellent exhibits for rent. From 10' and 20' display booths to 20' and 40' island exhibits, we are able to offer a wide choice for your next tradeshow. Download the IE Rental Catalog here.

IE Stops at Side of Road for B&B Complex Fire Exhibit

Just another roadside attraction. Except this one is more than your normal roadside interpretive panel. This exhibit is spread over three locations on Oregon's Santiam Pass, where the devastating B&B Complex Fire burned 100,000 acres in August and September of 2003. The B&B, which got it's moniker when the Booth and Bear Creek fires combined into one, burned for more than six weeks before it was declared under control. This exhibit was the culmination of an effort by the Oregon Forest Resources Institute, the US Forest Service, Oregon Department of Transportation and Oregon State University. The main kiosk is at the Corbett Sno-Park, just a couple of miles east of the top of Santiam Pass on Highway 20. See photos here.

Natracare Unveils Exhibit at All Things Organic

THe UK-based maker of eco-friendly products for women and babies took off the wraps of their newest exhibit recently. The project was on the fast-track, designed and shipped in approximately 35 days. The 20'x20' space is highlighted by a central display unit that features six 3'x4' back-lit graphics and removeable display shelves. Identical display kiosks occupy opposite corners. The exhibit space is rounded out with small tables and chairs on the other opposing corners. The look is finished with a faux-wood floor, the FlexFloor from Brumark, which received high marks from visitors. See some photos of the exhibit here.

Interpretive Exhibits Unveils Video Testimonials from Clients

We could shout about how good we think our designers and shop folks are till our voices were gone, but it would not be as powerful as hearing the message from happy clients. So we've done that - asked a number of companies we've worked with over the years to step up to the camera and tell it like it really is. These are unrehearsed, candid comments from people that have seen up close how IE works, the quality of our work and the attention we give to detail. Right now there is one video posted with two folks giving their views - more are in the editing room, just about to make their debut. See them here.

AC Gilbert's Discovery Village opens new River Room

Nothing like a children's museum to bring out the best in volunteers! Which is exactly what happened when IE teamed up with AC Gilbert's Discovery Village and a team of volunteers to create a new exhibit room at the long-time children's museum. To get the most bang-for-the-buck, IE's team of designers and fabricators created the main interactive pieces and the small 'touch-wall' diorama for the younger kids. AC Gilbert's DV then put volunteers to work painting the walls, creating specialized shelves and other cabinetry. The result? A project that came in on budget and on time and totally re-imagined the room that formerly held the Toy Hall of Fame. See pictures here.

Hyland's Homeopathic Medicines to Debut New Booth at Natural Products Expo West

Hyland's is a company with a century-long tradition, and wanted to showcase that tradition in a new custom tradeshow booth. The new booth was designed and fabricated to evoke a Victorian apothecary look and feel, and upgrade the image of the company for the 21st century. Hyland's new booth is the first major upgrade to their tradeshow presence in over a decade. The booth will feature store-like display shelves for as many as a hundred of their 3500 products. The product display shelving will be book-ended by triangle shaped end caps featuring light box graphics and faux apothecary-drawers. The booth will be trimmed by Hawaiian-grown koa wood to give it a unique and classical look. The booth's first scheduled show is the Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim in March, 2005. A few photos are here.

IE Completes Installation on Southern Arizona Transportation Museum

All aboard for history! The Southern Arizona Transportation Museum in Tucson recently unveiled a new museum at the Tucson Railroad Depot which celebrates the 125th anniversary of the railroad in Tucson. IE fabricated and installed the new exhibit, which focuses closely on railroad history in the area and other modes of transportation in Southern Arizona. The old railroad depot in Tucson was recently refurbished (see photos), bringing in restaurants, shops and other entities. The interactive exhibits show a timeline history of area transportation and explain the railroads' key role in the area's history. See photos here.

Marquis Spa Shows New Island at AQUA Show in Las Vegas

Marquis Spas wanted to downsize from a larger island exhibit, yet still offer a stunning showcase for their high-quality spas. Interpretive Exhibits designed and fabricated this 40' x 50' 16-foot tall booth that filled the bill. Take a look at some photos here. We're pleased to report that the folks from Marquis Spas were very pleased with their new exhibit.
